Glass Menagerie

In this design the events of The Glass Menagerie are treated as an encapsulated memory of the playwright, Tennessee Williams. Similar to how stained glass in churches depict a specific moment in time. The stained glass surrounds the set with depictions of animals from states where Williams lived. Williams desired to be seen as a “Southern Writer” and including animals from the southern states where he lived emphasizes his impact on the telling of this story, which brings to question how accurate is the play to the event.
